Food
Food will be available again at the camp this year. We will be able to cater for lunches and evening meals. Tea coffee and drinks for the kids will be available again from the kitchen.
We are hoping to create a wonderful community atmosphere at this camp whereby everyone has a chance to offer whatever skills they may wish to input. If anyone would like to bring along an idea for a session or workshop please get in touch and we will do our best to make it happen. We would love to be able to offer the opportunity to draw out your talents.
We also have had the offer, from Sarah, to facilitate a home education discussion forum. Sarah has had experience of this all over the place in this country and abroad. We will provide a small marquee for this to take place and it`s up to you to get involved if you like the idea.
We will be running a stall at the camp selling all kinds of bit`s and pieces including a large amount of army gear in small sizes. We will also be running a larger shop selling basics to stop the need for running down to the village so often. We also plan on having an open market day so if you have anything you want to bring and put out to sell then please do, the more the better.
About the Farm
The farm is situated between Newcastle Emlyn and Carmarthen, in the midst of 78 acres of stunning Welsh scenery, but well within striking distance of local amenities and attractions.
There is plenty of room to stretch out at Pengraig. The camping field is very large and is able to accommodate tents, caravans and campers.
There are composting loos and solar showers. The emphasis is very much on alternative technologies and we are keen recyclers. This all fits together perfectly with our environmental ed theme.
There is a large party barn which is fully equipped to shelter us all from the worst of the weather. There is a fine woodland play area with it’s pirate ship centrepiece. There will also be supervised trampolines and a climbing frame.
The infrastructure at Pengraig is being constantly improved and this year we have even more dedicated indoor space, more toilets and showers.
There are large areas of woodland, including a fantastic woodland walk which is a fully boarded and landscaped boardwalk winding along the top of a beautiful steep valley. This leads to the bushcraft area at the end which will be the scene of many of our outdoor sessions.
